A Note about an Ex-Experiment:

A Note about an Ex-Experiment:  If you are here to take a closer look at how to set up a bean sprout grower, you may notice that some of the jars in the background are wearing sweaters.   These sweater sleeves were an experimental attempt to provide darkness to help the sprouts grow longer. We found that when jar sweaters become damp, the water evaporates, which cools the jars.  Bean sprouts grow better when it is warm.

We got rid of the sweaters so, the jar surfaces stay dry, and use a curtain to block the light and drafts, and hold warm air around the jars.
(The jar rack is hung near a hot pipe behind the water heater)
